Shangri-la made my holiday
17 November 2012
My husband and I travelled to Bangkok in August for a holiday to celebrate or 40th wedding anniversary and we wanted it to be a very special occasion . Arriving late we where shown to our room which was overlooking the Chao Phraya river it was just amazing and really special. A couple of hour after being there my husband developed acute abdominal pain . Being in a strange country and not knowing what to do I went to reception to ask for help they where so helpful called me a taxi and directed me to the Bumrungrad international hospital, even writing down the details and gave the taxi a card to get us back to the hotel as we had only been in Bangkok for three hours and didn't knowing our location .My husband ended up having surgery for a kidney stone so he spent three days of our five days holiday in hospital. The hotel staff could not have been more helpful or caring to me, the staff all enquired about my husband daily and made sure I had directions to where he was and always took the numbers of all the taxi's I traveled in. I felt a bit daunted at eating on my own at first but No problem the staff talked to me every breakfast time and made sure I knew about the afternoon teas and evening drinks .When I had trouble with my husbands IPad ,the butler was there in a second and sorted everything out for me I cannot speak more highly of the staff at the hotel .
Our room in the Krungthep wing was excellent and the balcony was ideal for Mike to spend the last two days recuperating there .We certainly will go back and to the Shangri-la in Bangkok and finish our holiday next year .
There is only one word to describe the Shangri-la Bangkok ( SUPERB++++++ )
Again Many thanks to you all
