Memorable Family Adventure in Putrajaya
10 December 2015
In June, we went on a family adventure to the Shangri-la Putrajaya. This hotel had been my husband’s and my favourite weekend getaway for several years, as Putrajaya is very peaceful over the weekends, the hotel environment is perfect for relaxing and lazing around in, and it is relatively accessible for us, being about 4 hours’ drive away from Singapore, where we live in.
This trip was extra special for us, on a few counts:
1)It was a trip to celebrate my birthday
2)It was our last drive trip with the family car, which had accompanied us on numerous Malaysian road trips over the past nine years.
3)It was our first Malaysian trip with our then-five-month-old baby
As was the case on our previous trips, this visit to the Shangri-la Putrajaya did not disappoint. The serene environment, the spacious room, the pool with a view, the spa, cocktails in the lobby, Saturday night buffet dinners, the expansive and well-maintained park beside the hotel etc, these were the things that were so familiar to us and which kept us going back for more. Our little girl was also in visibly high spirits over that entire weekend, and she took to the little cot that was provided in our room very quickly.
One of the things we love most about the hotel is the pool, and on this trip, it appeared that our girl shared the same sentiments. It was her first time in a swimming pool, and she thoroughly enjoyed that first swimming lesson. She was all smiles while in the pool, and her excitement on this first experience was evident.
Weekends usually fly by too quickly. That particular weekend felt like it was over in a flash. All of us enjoyed ourselves on this first family drive trip to Malaysia, and we were glad that our little girl apparently shared the same liking for her Papa’s and Mama’s favourite weekend getaway. We will definitely be back for more in the years to come!
