Jakarta for kids? Let's stay in Shangri-La & go KidZania!
03 October 2013
I was looking for a nice hotel in Jakarta that is kids friendly. And, I chanced upon Shangri-La. "Nice pool, nice ambience and nice food" I said to myself and was reminded by their hospitality in Singapore. And, I love the idea of them having a Sunday program for kids while mummy can enjoy a nice brunch. Traveling with a child is never easy, and making sure that the child truly enjoys himself is even more difficult. I decided to just give Shangri-La a try & I have to say they truly makes my day by giving their attention to the child instead of just me. Thank you, Shangri-La, Jakarta. It was a truly sweet stay & you will always be our first choice of stay in Jakarta!
Here's our experience:
While I was checking in at the lobby, the guest relation went straight to my little boy, Jx to chat with him. She presented him with a heart-warming Teddy that he brings around everywhere. I felt really happy to see him fully engaged & giving his best behavior while I was busy checking in.
Lunch at SATOO was really nice but what left the strongest impression was not the food but the hospitality of the staff! Understanding that Jx might feel bored to be seated in the restaurant, the staff arrange for us to be seated near the window where it overlooks the pool & the garden. My little boy was so busy with the activity outside the window that I get to fully enjoy their international buffet ;)
Sunday morning was amazing, while I was having breakfast at SATOO lounge enjoying the view of the lush garden and butterfly shaped pool, Jx can't wait to start exploring the area. Sensing the situation, one of the lounge staff volunteer to bring him to the kids corner. She sets my heart at ease and allow me to have my personal space while traveling with a child. That's really nice!
By the way, you might like to learn that Shangri-La is pretty near KidZania, Pacific Mall. And, you certain do not need to spend much time in the traffic to let your child enjoy the KidZania experience!
Jakarta might not be the safest place for a child to wonder alone. But, with Shangri-La and Kidzania, parents have less reasons to be anxious!
