deliciousness in chinatown
12 July 2014
These days we seem to find our selves in Kuala Lumpur every year.
This is probably because we like flying Malaysian airlines.
This fortunate happenstance allows us the pleasure of staying in the luxury of the Shangri la.
I must say that in this blog I am torn between writing about the Malay sweets they serve in the Horizon club lounge along with lots of other yummy treats for afternoon tea and the more rustic delights of k.l.s China town.
Whilst both are fun and tasty today I want to write about Jalan Petaling or Chinatown as the locals refer to it.
This delightful crush of humanity is only a 15 minute taxi ride from the Shangri la.
It is full of market stalls selling a variety of genuine fakes and I was tempted by some polo shirts.
The noisy adventure continued during dinner to the sounds of the restaurant hawkers inviting people to eat in there establishments.
We chose one and enjoyed great Satays, noodles,Cantonese roast chicken and beef with pepper sauce.....Delicious.
enjoying the last of my Tiger beer I remarked to my wife and daughter that there was no way to mistake the sights and sounds for any where but Asia.
What a contrast this makes to the serenity of the Shangri la.
