Shangri-La hotel celebrates local food heroes with its Rooted in Nature culinary sustainability initiative.
This month marks the global launch of Shangri-La’s sustainable food movement – Rooted in Nature! In uniting its commitment to dining excellence and protecting the environment, the group has made available locally or ethically sourced food offerings in its restaurants across 89 hotels around the world.
Dishes, highlighted by the pea shoot logo on the menus, showcase the best local sustainable ingredients such as hotel-grown herbs, locally grown fruits and vegetables, free range poultry and beef, honey from a hotel’s own beehive and even organic caviar. Diners who prefer treasures from the sea will benefit from a bountiful supply of sensational seafood dishes using ingredients caught by sustainable fishery.
Rooted In Nature not only recognises the farmers, fishermen and ranchers that make dining at Shangri-La delicious and sustainable, the initiative celebrates Earth Day every day, in all Shangri-La kitchens. Find out more about Rooted in Nature.
