A Rising Star
Shangri-La Hotel, Tangshan opens in the “Treasured Land to the East of Beijing”.
Shangri-La Hotel and Resorts has unveiled its first property in Tangshan’s Phoenix New Town. Strategically located in the new eco-oriented urban area adjacent to the new financial and commercial hub, the hotel is housed within the Tangshan Kerry Property complex, the city’s first integrated development, and adjoins a shopping mall and landscaped park.
Shangri-La Hotel, Tangshan has 301 guestrooms and suites ranging from 45 to 135 square metres. Drawing on the timeless surrounds as a source of inspiration, the interior uses natural tones, as well as Chinese paintings and local ceramic ware to play up the classic décor. In addition to the guestrooms, there are 34 studios and one- or two-bedroom apartments. All residents enjoy full access to the hotel’s facilities and services.
On level 23 sits the Horizon Club Lounge, where Club floor guests can enjoy complimentary breakfast buffet, all-day refreshments, meeting facilities and personalised concierge service. The hotel’s superb dining options include Tang Huang Ge, which specialises in Jing-Dong (flavours of the north of China) and Cantonese cuisines, and Café Shang, where guests can take in the tranquil view of the hotel garden whilst sampling the restaurant’s offerings.
Shangri-La Hotel, Tangshan is a good base for guests looking to explore Tangshan’s UNESCO-listed Eastern Qing Tombs and relics of the Great Wall. The destination is equally renowned for the Chinese Ping Opera, shadow play and Laoting drums. Find out more about the destination and the hotel at www.shangri-la.com
