Wine pairing dinner at Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore
Diamond and Jade Golden Circle members enjoyed an exclusive Adelsheim vineyard wine pairing dinner, where Vertu luxury mobile phones were also on display. Held at the hotel’s BLU restaurant, the event featured the city’s captivating skyline, fine wines and the kitchen’s progressive cuisine. The menu included pan-seared Alaskan crab cake and avocado with Thai basil oil and gingered grapefruit segments, and BBQ Kurobuta pork cheek with morello cherry mustard charred broccolini and chicharron rumble.
The wines savoured on the evening were from Adelsheim vineyard, established by David and Ginny Adelsheim over four decades ago. David Adelsheim was recently recognised with a Lifetime Achievement Award by his peers in the Oregon wine industry for his role in elevating the state’s wine industry to world-class level. Guests enjoyed five exciting wines, including the edgy Pinot Gris (2011), light and tangy Chardonnay (2011) and delectable Pinot Noirs (2010 and 2011).
Complementing the delightful wine selection was a showcase of the world’s most desirable mobile handsets, each handmade in England by a single craftsman. Guests had the chance to see Vertu’s remarkable pioneering design, luxury technology and exclusive services up close and personal. Members were entertained with a live jazz band, and each received goody bags containing a Shangri-La storybook and essence candle.
