Shangri-La Hotel, Tianjin celebrates its grand opening.
After much anticipation, Shangri-La Hotel, Tianjin opens its doors to welcome guests to China’s largest northern port city. With 302 guestrooms, the hotel sits on the bank of the Haihe River in the new Hedong District, overlooking Tianjin’s signature architecture dating back to the 19th century.
A bustling business destination, Tianjin is just 30 minutes by high-speed rail from Beijing and has become a centre for the light industry and financial activities. On weekends, the city’s historic architecture, winding river and enticing food scene draw families and leisure travellers seeking a relaxing getaway.
In addition to its guestrooms, Shangri-La Hotel, Tianjin offers 39 serviced apartments. All guestrooms overlook the Haihe River and the executive Horizon Club Lounge on Level 32 offers panoramic city views. Boasting floor-to-ceiling windows, the Lobby Lounge features a stunning mural by Paris-based artist Chen Jiang Hong, who returned to his home city of Tianjin to create this work of art.
