Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa, Cebu completes first phase of refurbishment
Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa, Cebu completed the first phase of its refurbishment programme with 75 luxurious rooms in the Shangri-La Wing. Design firm Ara Design Asia selected an “ocean-to-shore” theme of golden sand, turquoise ocean hues and coral and seashell accents.
Refurbished Superior Gardenview rooms are warm, welcoming and feature views of landscaped gardens, while Deluxe Seaview Rooms are decorated in seaside colours, featuring views of the resort grounds and Mactan Channel. Both room types are a spacious 36 square metres and have private balconies.
The Shangri-La Wing also has two new suite categories. The one-bedroom Casa Suites offer the luxury of space with a convertible bed in the living room, cosy dining area and a separate powder room in the foyer. The Veranda Suites offer private 30-square metre corner terraces, a separate children’s room with a daybed and en suite shower room, and a separate pull-down sofa bed in the living room.
The refurbished rooms and suites highlight fine Philippine craftsmanship in the capiz shell headboards, timber flooring and decorative fretwork lamps, using local materials like teak and mother-of-pearl. Modern touches such as adjustable mood lighting and extra pull-down bed have been added.
