Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney’s commitment to sustainability
Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney demonstrates environmental sustainability by holding Earth Hour on Saturday 31 March 2012. With a focus on climate change, ozone depletion, water use management, waste disposal management and indoor air quality, the hotel practices environmentally friendly measures. These include fitting all guestrooms with water-saving devices in taps and showers, using energy-saving lamps and installing sensor air conditioning and lighting in the majority of hotel guestrooms during last year’s refurbishment.
From 8:30 p.m. on Saturday 31 March 2012, the main lighting in public areas at Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney will be turned off, and the hotel will remain on minimal lighting for one hour. Guests will be encouraged to participate by switching off the lighting and power in their guestrooms and suites.
