Coping with the stress of travel delays
Practice patience by having something else to do
Whether it’s waiting in line to check-in, for your bags to appear on the carousel, or at the taxi rank, there will be many times when you are forced to stand and wait for something to happen. If you can easily fill this time with something other than focusing on the inconvenience, you might find that travel becomes a lot less stressful.
Devices like smartphones, the iPad or Kindle (which have instant on capabilities) make it possible to whip out something engaging to distract you on the spot.
The trick is to find something you can easily disengage with when your turn in line comes up – particularly if you hope to charm your way into a free upgrade from a customer service representative.
