From chill-out lounges to thumping hot spots, Manila knows how to party.
From glamorous places to be glimpsed to laidback beer gardens, the city takes the lead in having a rollicking good time.
A city that never sleeps, the pulsating energy of Manila earns its reputation as an urban jungle, but in the best way possible. Offering much more than just a stopover to the country’s many tropical locales, its exciting nightlife is a great way to get to grips with the dynamic Filipino capital. From glamorous places to be glimpsed to laidback beer gardens, the city takes the lead in having a rollicking good time.
Ready, Set, Sparkle
The natural base for bon vivants, Edsa Shangri-La, Manila offers a luxurious retreat ideal for preparing for (or perhaps recovering from) a fun night out. Leave stress behind with the signature Philippine Hilot massage at CHI, The Spa using warmed coconut oil and banana leaves to detect energy imbalances in the body. Start the evening off right by lining the stomach at Senju, where the impeccably presented dragon sushi roll and melt-in-your-mouth wafu steak are not to be missed, before heading into town.
See and Be Seen
Bonifacio Global Village in Taguig City is a 30- to 45-minute journey from the hotel and renowned for its vibrant international scene for travellers seeking a glitzy evening out. 7th High (http://www.7thhigh.com/) is a trendy boutique nightspot favoured by the city’s movers and shakers that is divided into three areas: The Club, The Lounge and The Club Room. In-house mix master DJ Buzz from Los Angeles has worked with major international artists, including Yun Berg, Ray J, Bobby Valentino and APL of the Black Eyed Peas.
In the same area, Privé Luxury Club Manila at The Fort Strip is home to the city’s beautiful people and the brainchild of the creators behind famous haunts like Republiq, Opus, Encore and the legendary Embassy Superclub. Previously the chic site of Members Only, the designer space merges an exquisite bar and lounge with a high-energy dance floor topped off with a state-of-the-art sound system.
Hyve, the latest super club, opened its doors in March 2013, further accelerating Manila’s rapidly evolving nightlife. The upscale club-cum lounge occupies the top floor of the W Global Center in Bonifacio Global City and has fast become a favourite amongst those in-the-know. Managed by the same company overseeing Skye Lounge in the same building, international guest DJs are a main draw here, with previous line-ups showcasing Jimmy Carris, Geri Sia and Hook N Sling.
Heart of the Action
Those keen to explore Makati, the cosmopolitan centre of metro Manila, are spoilt for choice with a number of gorgeous spots to dance the night away. Sky Deck at Bayleaf comes highly recommended. The al fresco lounge roof deck offers a jaw dropping 360-degree view of the city for travellers who favour a more relaxed afterhours pace. This is the place to watch a sunset, cocktail in hand, if the thought of a packed nightclub doesn't appeal.
If the latter is what you’re after, Palladium, Manila’s largest and arguably most popular offers exactly the kind of pumping atmosphere to satisfy intense partygoers. From “Wasted Wednesdays” and “Luxe Thursdays” to “Fashion Fridays”, this non-stop party hub dictates the social calendars of devoted merrymakers. Regularly featuring globally respected DJs, guests can expect an expat crowd and models during the Pearl Night and Glam events.
Those interested in the underground house and music scene should head to Time in Manila, where tunes are the top priority. Featuring an array of dance genres, including techno, tech-house, deep-house, electro and trance, this is the choice for serious sound aficionados. Nick Warren, Darren Emerson, Yousef, Secret Cinema, Rosie Romero, John 00 Flemming, Jazzanova and Nelski are just some of the top international DJs who have headlined here.
A particular highlight is the roof terrace on the top floor, with its own dedicated bar and DJ booth. It offers a great alternative for those who wish to be slightly removed from the main event. Sit back, relax and let the rhythm of the night take over. Best of all, take comfort in the fact that, after an indulgent night out, your plush home-away-from-home offers rejuvenation at its finest.

I want to see more nice shopping centers in Manila-places where there' s good buys and eats. I am from the Metro and I think there' s a monopoly of old business giants on that specific industry-I want new players in the shop & dine scene ( I' ve got some on my area).. More young Asian inspired fashion and style & more gormet/ fine dining eats-I WANT!!
I also like to see cleaner Manila-no pollution in all forms & no trash along the streets: plus I WISH there' s no heavy traffic-wider roads & less jeepneys/ buses on the mains.
It would be nice if there' s no scavengers on the sidewalks and no children begging at moving vehicles.
I want to see a BETTER Manila.
I just thank God that I am in shield from much unpretty things around here..
